Rainy Saturday

So much for spring arriving....HA!  The rain was a little too white for my liking to begin the month.

Oh well, it was a good excuse to head downtown to peruse a vast assortment of shapes and sizes of camera "bags" for the new baby.

Thank goodness I don't need to start an education fund for this one, cuz things are going to grow expensive enough as it stands.

We stopped at Vistek on Queen Street but ended up at Henry's to make the final purchase.  I wanted a simple bag, just large enough to accommodate  the camera, the 17-85mm lens currently attached plus a few accessories. It had to be light weight, with a single shoulder strap, easy to access and carry everywhere AND be able to securely attach to the rear seat on the V-Star  when necessary. You know, the most important factor. *S*

Two hours and ninety-one bucks later we headed home in a dull gray misty rain.  Hmm, lets see how the new baby handles in dull overcast weather conditions, focusing through the spotted windshield while handling the constant jiggling passing over the street car tracks along Queen and the unexpected dips along Spadina.  I think I got the evil eye a few times. Yah that's right boy, while on the highway,  keep your eyes on the road. I just had to take ONE with the window rolled down. lol

The attached pics are marginally cropped from the original image, but otherwise untouched.

I ran the gamut through basic settings and the creative end and found that the camera handled the overcast conditions very well.  I have to admit that the auto stabilizer option on the lens is rather handy and even an ISO of 1600 produced a nice crisp image.

A stop at East Side Mario's around 5:30pm for veal parmigiana and chocolate eruption cake rounded out the day,  if not my stomach.. mmmmm

Oooops had to edit the "blue" images of the bag because I forgot to reset the white balance while using the flash tonight. ( Which by the way, revealed  a reflective strip sewn around the outside zippered pocket.)

I'll just blame the error on the bottle of Zinfadel at dinner.....*S*
