January Thaw

It has been  exceptionally mild for January so I ventured out with the camera

and took a leisurely stroll through the ravine and around the local lake.

Although flooding wasn't nearly as impressive as in past years,

this normally very calm little feeder creek was up to its banks

and running along at good clip in a few places..

The occupants of this hi rise "duplex" seemed to be out enjoying  day as well.

But next year they may be forced to search for newer

accommodations in the wake of park's crews annual cleanup.

The lake appeared to be partially thawed but maintained an icy grip on nature.

Fortunately this local swim club found calmer, open water to practice their skills.

Thanks, but I think I'll wait until summer for an 86 degree heated pool.
