Sheik, Sheik, Sheik

Sunday evening we attended a middle eastern (yes, yessss. better known as  belly dancing)

show at a club in downtown TO - The Gypsy Co-op at 815 Queen Street West.  No problem getting

there but round and round the block we went for nearly 15  minutes looking for a parking spot.

Good thing the show didn't start until 9pm.  The place was already well packed and we wound  our way through the crowd and found

an empty table near the back of the dimly lit establishment.

DIMLY lit is no exaggeration.  I never thought that an ISO of 1600 let alone 3200 would ever come in handy.

Now if ONLY that wiggling, shimming, traveling, near naked body would have slowed down and stayed

motionless for a fraction of a second ... lol

and talk about a grainy  image.....

After the first show of the evening, the owners thoughtfully brought out a few lights while patrons got up to dance and left them on during the second performance.   THANKS !

The crowd was most raucous and appreciative when the dancer enticed a male member of the audience to join her and wiggle.... um,  his stuff.

What a surprise, I never knew a guy could shake and shimmy his body like that.

Too bad I didn't stay....  focused to capture more of the display.

As the performance neared its completion,  I said ta hell with a flash popping off in patrons eyes and just let it rip, providing enough light to capture a couple of clear images.

Belly dancing gives one a whole new appreciation for muscle control and endurance.
