May 9, 2004 Only in Canada, EH ! With all the debates, discussions and debacle above and below the border that has some groups and individuals in a turmoil regarding same sex marriages, it appears that those in the animal kingdom have quietly jumped on board without so much as a ruffled feather. The pair of mallard ducks that had made the back yard pool home, laid a few eggs over the course of two weeks and left them sitting on the cold concrete deck. Neither mate tended them, nor displayed any interest or responsibility in keeping their future offspring warm....much to the joy of the local skunk population who later gobbled them up for breakfast. I suppose Mother Nature never considered legislating common sense. Mr. and Mrs. Mallard must have maligned each other sufficiently to have a permanent falling out and now there's a new "man" in the picture....with MR. Mallard. A strikingly handsome fellow who took no time in jumping back into the swim of things. Looks as if they really hit it off and exchanged matching "rings" already....lol
'I've also been rather neglectful in keeping up this section. Let me explain.... I was slowly but surely running out of space on my hard drive, so we picked up a brand new 120 gig drive from the local computer store along with some extra memory that certainly helped to speed up photo editing time. The other half wants to keep the old drive as a back up to the new one, and has been tinkering with installation of the new drive while I backed up all my files to CD's. I was out for the day and arrived home to find that the new drive was up and running. Later in the evening, I was experimenting with a few images and "misplaced" a photo file that I had been editing. I had saved it, but WHERE was the question. It wasn't on the C drive where I started, so a brief search revealed that in addition to the C drive that was already partitioned with a back up labeled as the F drive, I now have the new 120 gig drive labeled as the G drive, partitioned with a H drive. Don't forget the D and E drives for the CD reader and the CD reader/writer. Oh yes, last but not least, the little A drive. Hmmm, I was thinking that all I need now is a U and K drive, so I can be totally F..... um, you know what direction I'm heading with this...... up.
